Where do you find all the Tenets of Akarat in Diablo 4? There are 30 in total scattered around the new zone called Nahantu. Like the base game’s Altars of Lilith, these tenets appear as small statues hidden within the jungle. Only this time there are small puzzles that keep you from bringing the light back to the shrines. If you can manage to find them all, there is plenty of renown and some fresh rewards waiting for you.
Nahantu itself is slightly larger than any Diablo 4 base game region. That means 30 Tenets of Akarat is reminiscent of the density of the Diablo 4 Altars of Lilith. Expect to find around five of the statues in each sub-region that contain one of four different puzzles. Once you find a few of them, the mini-mechanics are easy to deal with and you’ll soon have as much renown as you can get.
All Tenets of Akarat Locations in Nahantu
There are 30 Tenets of Akarat that are split between six sub-regions in Nahantu. Each one of them will be blocked by corruption or hatred until you finish one of four puzzles: summoning spirits, lighting statues, matching statues, or destroying the hatred. From there, you can read the Tenets and light the statues for Renown as a reward.
Lingering Hatred Tenets of Akarat
Here are all of the Tenets of Akarat in Lingering Hatred:
The Sunless Holt
Directly west of The Den. look for three small lion statues (Stone Guardians) on the edge of a cliff. Light the statues as fast as you can to remove the vines from the Tenet of Akarat.
Spider Forest
Head northwest of The Den until you reach the edge of the Lingering Hatred Region. There is another set of three small lions that you need to light as fast as possible. If they don’t remove the vines, keep lighting them in succession until the Tenets can be used.
Yuke-Lih River
On the southern side of Lingering Hatred, which is just above the Kurast Bazaar, there is another set of three guardians. This time, though, you need to light all the statues by killing enemies. Once three statues have been lit, you can destroy the defiled part of the shrine to unlock the Tenet.
Blighted Verge
From the Kurast Docks in the north, make your way southeast until you find a single red Stone Guardian next to a red chasm. Interact with the red lion statue to summon Shades of Hatred. After they are all defeated, activate the shrine.
Flayer Jungle
Go back to the docks and move southwest this time. You will eventually find the Remnants of Rage dungeon. The Tenet of Akarat is slightly to the east next to a giant tree. Another set of three lion statues is there as well, but instead of racing to light them, look at the statues behind the tree. Match them in the same order to unlock the shrine.
Seven Stones Tenets of Akarat
Here are all of the Tenets of Akarat in Seven Stones:
Resting Void
In the southeastern tip of the Seven Stones, there is a small circular den next to a cellar. You will find a set of three statues inside that must be lit as fast as possible to unlock the Tenet.
Spiritcall Forest
Northeast of Samuk, near the border of Seven Stones, is a waterfall. Approach the corrupted shrine and look at the lion statues on the rocks above. Light the statue that matches below.
Then, approach the Chakhir Stronghold to the northwest. Just before the Stronghold, there is a small ruin with one statue inside and two on the outside. Light them as fast as possible to reveal the Tenet.
Nether Valley
Move to the eastern side of the Chakhir stronghold to find a Tenet in a watery cove. Ignite the red Stone Guardian to summon the Shades of Hatred. Then you can light the true shrine.
Then, move northwest of the Murmuring Spiral on the northern border. Follow the dirt path until you find the Tenet. Make sure to pull some enemies into the area so that the shrines can be ignited. Once three statues are lit up, destroy the Defile Shrine.
Five Hills Tenets of Akarat
Here are all of the Tenets of Akarat in Five Hills:
Lower Kurast
Starting from the Kurast Bazaar, go follow the path directly to the southeast in the Five Hills. You will find ruins with carts and small wooden fences. Kill at least three enemies near the Stone Guardians to activate the Defiled Shrine. Destroy it to finish the puzzle.
Vale of the Long Mists
Move to the center of the Five Hills. Approach the red Stone Guardian in the river and defeat the Shades of Hatred to remove the corruption.
The Clouded Forest
Head to the eastern side of the southern tip of the Five Hills. There is a small ruin with three lion statues. Light them before time runs out.
Reflection’s Edge
On the western edge of the zone, you will find where many of the rivers end. On the edge of that river is another set of three Stone Guardians. Look in the water to see a second set of lions. Match the lights to unlock the Tenet.
The Tangles
The fifth shrine in this zone is to the east of Samuk. Ignore the blocked-off areas if you haven’t completed the campaign. Once you arrive at the shrine, simply light the lion statues as fast as you can.
Restless Canopy Tenets of Akarat
Here are all of the Tenets of Akarat in the Restless Canopy:
Skittering Earth
Head to the northeastern tip of the Restless Canopy. Three statues are lined up next to a horde of bones. Light them before time runs out to remove all the corruption.
Then, nearly in the center of the Restless Canopy there is a major chasm. More lion statues are lined up on the edge of the chasm. If you look over the side, there are three additional statues that you need to match.
Pestilence
Move to the southeastern tip next to The Festering Dark Stronghold. Like the previous Tenet, activate the statues as fast as you can.
The Underbrush
Move to the southwest section of the zone to find two square platforms. In the smaller square platform, there is a red Stone Guardian. Light the lion and destroy all the Shades of Hatred.
Diregloom Jungle
South of the Hallowed Stones dungeon is a set of statues next to some torches. Kill monsters near the statues to light them. The Defiled Shrine will appear and you can destroy it to unlock the Tenet.
Field of Giants Tenets of Akarat
Here are all of the Tenets of Akarat in the Field of Giants:
Carrions Cradle
Ride to the northern border of the Field of Giants and look for a murky pond. Light all the Stone Guardians before time runs out to activate the Tenet.
Monster Fells
On the main path to the north, move to the left side of the road. There are three statues on a ridge. Another three statues are stationed on a lower level. Match the statues based on the lights so that you can activate the Tenet below.
Hesa Tu
Look for the Forgotten Remains dungeon on the map and move southwest. When you reach the Tenet, light the statues as fast as you can.
Beast Fate Wilderness
Teleport to Ichorfall and head northeast. Just underneath a cellar is a set of statues that require kills. Three monster kills will spawn the Defiled Shrine that you can destroy.
Then, directly southwest of Ichorfall is the last Tenet in the zone. Activate the red lion statue to spawn Shades of Hatred. After they have been dealt with, the Tenet is free to use.
Teganze Plateau Tenets of Akarat
Here are all of the Tenets of Akarat in Teganze Plateau:
Seram Trails
North of the Sleepless Hollow dungeon is a small path that leads down to a river. At the start of the river is three lion statues. Kill at least three enemies near the statues to ignite them. Then a Defiled Shrine will appear that you can destroy.
The Great Shelf
Move east of the Sleepless Hollow to find a large chasm. On the south side of the chasm edge are three statues that need to be lit as fast as possible.
Dueling Rivers
West of Kichuk is a small pocket in the canyons where two rivers meet. There you will find a red Stone Guardian that can be interacted with. Take down the Shadows of Hatred that appear to claim the Tenet.
Bloodstained Heights
Southwest of the Kichuk Stronghold is another chasm. Move to the edge until you see another set of three statues. Look beyond them to see a fire with a second set of Stone Guardians. Match the first set to unveil the Tenet.
Kehjan Pinnacles
Climb onto a hidden platform at the eastern edge of the Teganze Plateau. Light the statues as fast as you can to unlock the Tenet.
And that marks all of the Tenets of Akarat in Diablo 4. Regardless of the final shrine that you light, you can expect a few rewards to make the search worth the effort.
Diablo 4 Tenets of Akarat rewards
After finding all 30 Tenets of Akarat, a new Nahantu Lion mount is one of the largest rewards you can expect. Along with the campaign, this is a great way to start earning new cat-based mounts that were introduced with Vessel of Hatred. But the mounts aren’t the only reason to find all these shrines around the jungle.
Each Tenet of Akarat that you light will give you an additional 10 Renown for the Nahantu region. Like all the base game regions, Renown is what allows you to unlock extra Skill Points, potion slots, and Paragon Points. And it helps to earn some new titles along the way.
